Privacy Policy

1. About the App

The Abhyaas Classes app is a tool for students, parents and staff of a coaching institute. It provides class schedules, live classes, tests and results, study material, assignments, attendance, announcements and fee information. It is used only by people enrolled with, or employed by, the Institute.

The Institute decides why student and staff data is collected and is the data fiduciary (controller) for it. Prejee Innovations Private Limitedacts as its technology provider and processes that data only on the Institute's behalf and instructions, to run the app.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you or the Institute provide

• Account details — name, email address, phone number (if provided), role (student, parent, teacher, admin), and the batch/class you are enrolled in.
• Academic records — test attempts, answers, scores, ranks, performance analysis, assignment submissions, doubts you post, and attendance records.
• Fee records — fee amount, due dates, payment status and receipts for your enrolment.
• Files you upload — files you choose to attach (for example an assignment or a doubt attachment). We access only files you explicitly select.
• Communications — messages to support and doubt-chat content.

2.2 Information collected automatically

• Device and app information — device model, operating system version, app version, and a push-notification token so we can deliver notifications.
• Usage and diagnostic information — features used and error information, used to keep the app working and secure.

2.3 Sign-in with Google or Apple

If you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address (and profile picture from Google) from that provider. We never receive your Google or Apple password.

Permissions the app may request

• Notifications — class reminders, test alerts, fee reminders and announcements.
• Camera — only to scan QR codes (for example to open a test on a computer or mark attendance). Images are processed on your device and are not stored or uploaded.
• Internet — to load your data from our servers.
• Files/photos you select — through the system file picker, only for items you choose.

You can deny or revoke any permission in your device settings; features that depend on it will then be unavailable.

3. How We Use Information

• To create and manage your account and show you the content for your batch and role.
• To deliver classes, tests, results, analysis, assignments and study material.
• To record and display attendance and academic progress to you, your parents/guardians and the Institute's staff.
• To display fee status and process fee payments.
• To send transactional notifications and service messages.
• To provide support, keep the app secure, and detect and prevent fraud and abuse.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not show third-party advertising in the app, we do not use your data for advertising or profiling for advertisers, and we do not sell your personal data.

4. Fee Payments (Razorpay)

The app is used to pay tuition and coaching feescharged by the Institute for its classes. It does not sell digital goods, in-app content, subscriptions or features, and no such purchases are made through Google Play's billing system. The fees are for a real-world coaching service delivered by the Institute.

All online fee payments are processed by Razorpay(Razorpay Software Private Limited), a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway. When you pay, you enter your card, UPI, netbanking or wallet details directly on Razorpay's secure checkout. We do not see or store your card number, CVV, UPI PIN or netbanking credentials. We receive only the payment status, order/payment ID, amount and the payment method type, to mark your fee as paid and issue a receipt. Razorpay handles your payment information under its own privacy policy at razorpay.com/privacy.

5. Who We Share Information With

We share information only as needed to run the app:

• The Institute — its teachers, administrators and staff can see the records of students in their batches, and a student's parent/guardian can see that student's attendance, results and fee status.
• Service providers (processors) — acting on our instructions and bound to protect the data:
  • Razorpay — payment processing.
  • Google Firebase Cloud Messaging — delivery of push notifications (device token).
  • Cloud hosting, database and storage providers — to host the app's servers and data.
  • Email delivery provider — verification and password-reset emails.
  • Google and Apple — only if you choose to sign in with them.
  • Video-class provider (for example Zoom) — if you join a live class, the provider receives the details needed to join the session and applies its own privacy policy.
• Legal reasons — where required by law, court order or a government authority, or to protect rights, safety and security.
• Business transfers — in a merger or transfer of the Institute or Rankrs, subject to the same protections.

Other students cannot see your personal details. We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.

6. Data Security

• All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS.
• Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text; on-device login tokens are kept in the device's secure storage.
• Role-based access, so each user can reach only the data their role permits.
• Rate limiting and abuse protection on sign-in and payment endpoints.

No system is completely secure. If a breach affects your personal data, we will inform you and the authorities as required by applicable law.

7. Data Retention

• Account and academic data — kept while you are enrolled or your account is active, and deleted or anonymised within 30 days of an approved deletion request or the end of your association with the Institute, unless the law requires longer.
• Fee and payment records — kept for up to 7 years, as required by Indian tax and accounting law.
• Server logs — kept for up to 90 days for security and debugging.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable law, you may:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Request erasure of your data, subject to legal retention duties (such as fee records).
• Withdraw consent for optional processing, such as notifications or location, in your device settings.
• Nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity.
• Raise a grievance (see section 11).

Account and data deletion

To delete your account and associated data, email [email protected] from the email address registered in the app, with the subject "Delete my Abhyaas Classesaccount". You need not have the app installed. We verify the request and complete deletion within 30 days, except for records we must retain by law (section 7). Students may also ask the Institute to remove their record.

9. Children's Privacy

Many of our students are minors. Accounts for students under 18 are created and managed by the Institute with the consent of a parent or guardian, who may contact us at any time to review, correct or delete the child's data or to withdraw consent. We do not track or monitor children's behaviour for advertising, and we do not target advertising at them. We collect only the data needed to deliver coaching.

10. Data Storage and Transfers

Your data is stored on secure servers and may be processed in India or in other countries where our service providers operate. Where data is transferred outside India, we do so in accordance with applicable law and require providers to protect it.

11. Grievance Officer and Contact

For any privacy question, request or complaint, contact the Grievance Officer. We acknowledge requests promptly and respond within 30 days.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows the current version. For material changes we will notify you in the app or by email. Continued use of the app after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
